Yes, Rubens was full of knowledgeable staff and lots of mountain gear - the best we found durng our own trip from the UK. Shame that not many staff speak English. Gary - hope you keep up with the blog and bring us news of your latest exploits on Izta in the New Year.

I've given their phone number to my climbing partner to do the deed of conversation! Makes my life easier! I could converse in the shop to get what I need, but I'm at a loss on the phone.
The current plan is to go up Izta again in February. A smaller group of us! No guide this time, and one of the chaps has a tent so we just need crampons. I'll post that on the blog too of course. I think I might try and do a few more climbs next year. Or at least one. I'm thinking of Malinche.
I do have a main blog where I write a good deal more about life in Mexico, albeit non mountain related! The Mexile.
